11-5-2011 Donnybrook

This is the township of Donnybrook.

In town we have this amazing children's, teenagers and adults play area Fun for all Ages. The town is country village small with a short row of shops. The people here and all of these country towns are very friendly and happy.

This is a major fruit area with the apples, pears, oranges and avocados.

We were very surprised to find such a large area for the children and adults. It is a play area for all...yes l mean all ages to enjoy.
The money has been raised by the community.

The streets as in all of these towns are double in size and clean. We are staying in the town park for a small cost with all amenities available for us. They don't have a caravan park and we are glad they don't. You can only stay for 3 nights and that suits us fine. Thank you Donnybrook.

Wednesday 11-5-2011.

Today the guys are going to golf thank you very much. Wendy and Sandra had the day to themselves which was great. First they ventures for a walk up town to find the craft shop, when found it had closed down and only operating on the Internet.

That didn't stop us we went cloths browsing and found a couple of little surprises for ourselves.
The guys enjoyed themselves as well, John came back with 2 apples and said it was for getting closest to the pin. Now as usual l thought country maybe that was the truth. No he can't help himself another one of his untruth's.

Thursday,

John has realised today that he has lost his wedding ring somewhere yesterday while playing golf.
We are going for a drive Ballinggup another up town, so we will call into the golf grounds and have a look for the ring. No not there.

On we go to Ballinggup and what a lovely town. There are only about 10 stores for the tourists and locals, but the country side is just beautiful. We stopped at a country fruit barn and picked up some great fruit and so cheap.

We went to a fruit farm where we thought that we could pick our own [nope] But they had the zaniest looking goat l guess it is a mohair type but the poor thing couldn't see where he was going. They have a huge orchard and the dam so huge is so low with water. They are having a big problem with the drought. Everything is so green but they say that it is only because of the rain they had over Easter. On the property is a mine shaft fenced off and they produce the best tasting fruit juice.
Naturally we couldn't resist buying some pear and apple juice.

We had lunch in town and enjoyed every mouthful. Vegetarian.

Just a little look at the area and how quaint it is. Most country towns have these quirky stories.

This is where we wad lunch and this is a seat hat is covered with mosaic pattern which l thought was lovely and would have put it in the car but we don't have a scenic of room left.

After we had lunch we wandered through the little shops then continued our drive. We found a beautiful country Bistro Bar made out of mud bricks great photo opportunity. Couldn't resist looking inside but it was closed and next thing was this gay as gay guy bouncing to thee door saying come in do come in. What can u do we went in and admired the building. He wanted us to buy a drink but we were mean and said not now.I took a photo of him but unfortunately he had thrown his head back talking about his rabbit fur on his neck so l missed the shot. Wasn't game enough to get another seeing we didn't buy a drink.

What a character he was. Happy with his own world and l guess seeing that he as only the caretaker he must have been good for business. They had about 30 tables set up for dinner and the Menu was on the bar

This beautiful Inn looks like a thriving business for a small town. The bar is fully stocked, heaps of seating everywhere.

When we arrived home Judy was cutting Warrens hair. They stayed home for a rest day and a clean up day.

What a sight O' what a sight it really was. Warren couldn't help but enjoy the limelight. What do they say Scott like father like son.

John had to join in.
