Leaving Pemberton for Manjimup

Last night we were having a catch up with friends from the Central Coast who are travelling around for three months.
Looking like twits we are now ready for the tour of the saw mill.
Fantastic we have it on movie.

Here we are finally catching up again with everyone.  This will be a very short travel day. But before we head off we will be going through the timber mill which we all will enjoy.

The first stop at Manjimup to look at tables and chairs crafted from this magnificent timber. CLOSED! What a shame.
Morning tea then back into the car to Nannup where we will be free camping again.
Another great night had by all but very cold. We had our usual toasty sandwich and apple pies thanks to Wendy.

NANNUP TO AUGUSTA

Our trip has been wonderful with ample to see and do along the way.We don't have to travel as far between towns now as we are getting closer to Perth.

AUGUSTA

Tuesday,3rd 2011

As we are here for a few days we are going to places on our own. If we meet up with the group then we will be doing it together. John and l went to see the Lighthouse in Augusta and decided to do the tour. Great walk up to the top 290 steps and what a view. Augusta is where the two oceans meet. The Southern Ocean and the Indian Ocean. Some times l am a little bit blond as it was explained to us that the Southern Ocean is flat to look at and the Indian Ocean is undulating with the currents. Now l can see the difference but when we explained it to others they said it was incorrect. I can still see the difference while we are visiting other places along the coast.

Looking out across the Southern Ocean

Lighthouse that won't rotate

This was a real treat and the view was out of this world. We have travelled approx 7000km and it is only 5000km to the South Pole from this most eastern point

Our next adventure was to walk out to the edge of the rugged rocks and have a look at the Water Wheel.
old water wheel that was used in the mining

Looking out to the Indian Ocean.

Sending to all our friends and family. We are all safe and having a wonderful time xxxxx
